IDA-Iowa Fall Book Club

September 18 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Have you learned about the Science of Reading, but feeling overwhelmed about how to start? Want to talk with other educators about how they implement structured, evidence-based literacy instruction in a manner consistent with the regularities of the English writing system? Educators, this event is for you!

Join the Iowa branch of the International Dyslexia Association (IDA) across 3 evenings this fall to learn more about how to teach the English writing system by discussing the book Uncovering the Logic of English by Denies Eide. Connect with other educational professionals across the state of Iowa. Sessions are facilitated by board members of the Iowa IDA.

The 3 nights and reading assignments are as follows:

  • Wednesday, September 18, 7:00 – 8:00 CST – Chapters 1-4
  • Wednesday, October 16, 7:00 – 8:00 CST – Chapters 5-11
  • Wednesday, November 20, 7:00 – 8:00 CST  – Chapters 12-18

You do not need to be a member of the Iowa branch of the International Dyslexia Association in order to attend, nor do you need to commit to attending all 3 meetings!

Please register for at least 1 of the 3 meetings if you plan to attend. You do not need to register 3 different nights if you plan to attend all. Registration is through Eventbrite to get the zoom link: IDA-IA Fall Book Club

Note. These online meetings will not offer professional CEUs or PDHs. This is just a discussion of the book, IDA-IA does not endorse the book or material in it.
